Pat Murray, a reitred teacher and long time leader and peer in the brain injury community, now faces the unrelenting stressors of Portland metro's rent crisis.  In the past 6 years, she has moved 5 times in order to maintain her housing, after receiving unprecedented rent increases between $300 and $700 per month.

She states, "Seniors are becoming the new homeless".

Living on a modest  lower- middle income comprised of social security and pension income, her budget is stretched to the breaking point as she undergoes expensive medical treatments and on-going physical therapies. When asked what she will do if her rent is increased an additional  $300 - 500/month, she stated: "I don't know".  (see Pat's Video)
